Welcome to THE WEIGHT: What If You’ve Been Solving the Wrong Problem?

You’re told to fix your body. Improve your self-worth. Get your life right. And when it doesn’t work, you assume it must be you.

In this trailer episode, Julie Kerr introduces The Weight — a podcast that looks beyond self-help, wellness, and fixing, to question how women came to see themselves as problems in need of fixing.

This episode sets the premise for the series — inviting you into an exploration of the ideas that have shaped women’s bodies, worth, and lives, and opening the question of what becomes possible when those ideas are examined more closely.

The WEIGHT is proud to be on the Visionary Leaders Media Network.

About Julie:

Drawing on lived experience and years of working with women around food and self-image, her work looks beyond self-help and fixing to expose what has been hiding in plain sight — and what becomes possible when it’s finally seen differently.

Julie Kerr:

There's never been a time when women have been encouraged to work on themselves more than now. But what if the problem you've been trying to fix isn't actually the problem your body, yourself, your life? We're told, just get these right, and life will work out. So you monitor yourself, you manage yourself, you keep yourself in line. And when that doesn't work, you assume it must be you, so you try harder, or perhaps you give up. I'm Julie Kerr and this is the weight a podcast exposing the lies that shaped us, and the weight those lies have us women carry, not just in our bodies, but to the very core of who we are. This isn't self help. It's not diet or wellness talk, and it's not about fixing yourself. It's about understanding something that's been hiding in plain sight for generations, a shared inheritance that has no name, yet it's woven invisibly into our culture and consciousness. Once you see what you've inherited, you'll stop asking what's wrong with me, and start understanding what you've been living inside of so you can then decide what actually belongs to you and stop carrying what never did. This is where the wait begins and you are invited.

About the Podcast

THE WEIGHT
Ever feel like you’re always working on yourself — your body, your worth, your life —
but going nowhere fast?

The Weight is a weekly interview-based podcast that explores a set of largely
unexamined ideas that have shaped how women relate to their bodies, their value,
and themselves. Ideas so deeply embedded in culture they’ve been absorbed as -
“just the way things are.”

Hosted by writer Julie Kerr, the series draws on cultural history, lived experience, and
conversations with unexpected voices to reveal a shared inheritance passed on for
generations and the weight it has silently imposed on women’s lives far beyond their
physical bodies.

This isn’t self-help, wellness, or diet talk.

It’s about seeing what’s been hiding in plain sight — so you can choose what’s
actually yours to carry, and what is not.

This is The Weight. And you are invited.
